HERITAGE AND CULTURE OF J&K

The state was highly influenced by the Greeks and Romans. Besides, the Persians had a great influence on the living, food, dressing and literature of J&K. Since past few decades the religious cults like Islam, Hinduism and Jainism have made a significant contribution towards the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. These diversified dynasties and religions were responsible for bringing variety into the lives of people. The two regions namely Kashmir valley and Jammu have different people with their diverse culture and traditions, but continuously intermingling, making it a vibrant specimen of Indian unity amidst diversity.
